BMW has a problem with its adventure bike lineup: Its bigger bikes are too big for many riders’ liking, but its small bikes are too small.
There’s a huge jump between the G310 GS and the F900 GS, let alone the R1300 series. So, the Germans appear to be planning a solution; they’ve just released a teaser for an all-new middleweight.
The BMW F450 GS isn’t quite ready for production, but it doesn’t seem to be that far off, either.
BMW’s press release on the new machine gives lots of information, but it’s still low on specifics.
The engine is a parallel twin that is supposed to make 48 horsepower, fitting it into the ever-more-important A2 licensing category in Europe.
It will come with multiple riding modes and lean angle-sensitive safety electronics, which will be controlled from a TFT dash.
That dash will also connect to your phone via Bluetooth.
