Our history

On a cold snowy March evening in 1967, 20 people met for the first time to discuss the possibility of forming an exclusive marque motorcycle club.

From that first meeting came the nucleus of the Wisconsin BMW Motorcycle Club.

Fifty-five years later the club has grown from a handful of people to a fine club that enjoys the sport of motorcycle riding, camping, and putting on one of the largest club sponsored rallies in the United States. Our bright Kelly Green club shirts help to make our members distinguishable wherever BMW riders gather.

Club events include monthly club meetings, organized club rides, an Annual Awards Banquet, and family camp outs, all which are published in our exceptional monthly club newsletter.

In 1970, along with two other fine BMW Clubs, the Wisconsin BMW Motorcycle Club laid plans to create a BMW Rally that would invite other BMW motorcycle enthusiasts to a special weekend camp-out.

The first rally in Wisconsin Dells was a great party for about 70 people. With each rally thereafter, many new things were added, including free beer and a “Chili Dinner” on Saturday evening. These things got bigger and better.

Today the rally serves a hot dogs and chili Friday night, features a pig roast Saturday evening, and on Sunday morning we serve fruit and donuts until gone. Plus there are always bottomless coffee, lemonade, and other non-alcoholic beverages throughout the rally. Soda and beer are available on-site at the Club Beer Garden.

Activities include a led ride through the area, non-motorized field events, a 5K fun run, and BINGO. Area roads offer spectacular riding. The rally also offers, live entertainment, including dancing Friday & Saturday nights. Many people bring the whole family, as there are always plenty of activities for all ages at the rally and in the Dells. “

The Wisconsin Dells Rally continues to be one of the premier BMW rallies in the nation.
