September 16th. Join me at The Hardee's at 83 and I-94 at 9:00 Leave at 9:30 for a ride to Richfield to see a recreation of an oldtime thresheree. This was an activity that Ken Kuenzi enjoyed.

Move the calendar back to when steam engines that powered threshing machines moved from farm to farm to harvest the grain.

Try to remember when horses plowed fields. Have you ever seen large logs sawed using steam power?

You will experience all of these long-ago activities, plus much, much more (exhibits, demonstrations, blacksmithing, encampments, to name a few) at the 19th Annual Thresheree.

And if you're really feeling nostalgic, there's a "Captain America" replica chopper for sale just north of the site on Scenic Road.

There truly is something for everyone at this event! I won't be able to go on the ride because I'll be working there in some capacity.
I believe the program book this year will have a tribute to Ken.

As of Tuesday, the chopper that Tom S. referred to is still there. Technically, it's south (and east) of the Thresheree (Park) site, on Scenic, just north of Bark Lake Rd. and south of Hubertus Rd.

Thresheree was a way bigger deal then I had imagined!

Great ride Jim! I think you took a couple roads I cannot remember ever riding on! Thresheree was very interesting and well worth a visit next year and beyond.
Nice tribute to Ken K. in the event program. Thanks to Joy, for suggesting a ride to the event!
